Dr. Anita Shantaram has completed her PhD from BITS Pilani in the field of Business Ethics in 2015. 'Ethical Business Practices and Corporate Financial Performance: An Empirical Analysis’, is the title of her thesis. She holds a post-graduation degree in Industrial Psychology from Bombay University. Certified as Leading Professional in Ethics and Compliance by ECI.She has attended the executive education program, “Managing Ethics in Organisations” from Bentley University, Boston, USA.Founder of Ethics Research and Consulting Pvt. Ltd., set up in 2016.

As the first woman to be certified as Leadership Grid Instructor in India after successfully completing the course in the USA in 1994. Having attended the Dale Carnegie course “High Impact Presentations” and Steven Covey’s Time Management program in the USA. She has undergone “Train the Trainer” programme in Transactional Analysis.She has also conducted a series of Train the Trainer programmes for organisations such as RKHS and Aditya Birla group and more.
She is a facilitator for outbound- adventure training programmes with Zbac and has codesigned a powerful workshop called the ‘Grid Adventure’.
Positions held
She is the trustee of Dr. P. N. Singh Foundation, which runs the Leaders of Tomorrow program in 50 schools in Mumbai. She has been invited to be on the executive committee of Council of Fair Business Practices.2017 chairperson of the management week for BMA – Bombay Management Association. She was the President [2009-2010] Rotary Club of Bombay Bayview. At the district she has held various positions, including Asst. Governor [2013-14] (RID 3140), and Asst. Trainer [2016-17] (RID 3141) Jt. Treasurer [2017-18]. On the Executive Committee, for the Bombay Management Association, 2017. Co-Chairperson of the Education Committee, Chairperson of the Ethics Committee for Council for Fair Business Practices, 2017
Research & Publications
She has published and presented 7 papers at National conferences; does it pay to be Ethical, Can Ethics be taught, Ethical Practices, Understanding Business Ethics. Her articles have been published in BMA Review, the Times of India and the Self Development Magazine.
She has also co-drafted the Teachers Code of Conduct for HEF (Higher Education Forum). Her first book 'Speak Well, Do Well' on public speaking skills has been well received. It is now in its 3rd edition.
She has also written in the book ‘Self Development for Sure Success’. She is regularly quoted in work related articles in the Mid Day newspaper.
Trainer & Faculty
A faculty member at Sydenham College, Mumbai for (BMS) on Communication skills 2002 to 2009 and Organisational Behavior, she has earlier taught Psychology at Jai hind College, Mumbai. She is also teaching Soft Skills, Business Communication and Business Ethics at IBS business school since 2007. Also taught Business Ethics and Corporate Governance at HR college for BFM and BBI courses in 2015. Visiting faculty at Deviprasad Goenka Management College Of Media Studies, delivering lectures on Business Communication. She received the award for Outstanding Teacher in the area of Business Ethics by HEF in 2013. She has been a panel trainer for BMA and FICCI.
